Whether you are marketing a product, services or an event, know where to start is key. Marketing is one of the most important factors in a successful launch. The problem is how much do I spend and what's the most effective platform?
As the author of, It's Your Business Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going and App Design Basics for Professionals I have gathered years of successful business launch case studies and determined that after a decade of working with both individuals and entrepreneurs there is one common complaint that my clients typically have.
Either it, "No Time," or its "No Money."
In other words, If I don't have the time to do it myself, and I must spend the money to hire someone to do it for me, or the later, I have the time, I just don't have (tech-knowledge) or the money to spend on the high-end tech software to get the job done myself.
If this is you, then listen up.
First, I really do recommend a hiring a professional, but if you know that's not on you "can-do" list I recommend you do this:
1. Create your Ad Campaign
If it's an event that you are promoting, narrow down the when, why and where. Set the date and create your Ad using: Canva.com. If it's a new business or book that you're launching, or even if you're simply in the mood to upgrading an existing brand, I highly recommend you spend the $30 and upgrade to the CanvaPro.
It is the secret weapon for creating a stunning design. Plus it will yield the same high-end results as hiring an expensive graphic design professional as well as allow you to both share online and print physical marketing materials and ship directly to your business/home.
2. Make certain that your Ad Campaign includes a "Call-To-Action."
I speak about the power of having a "A Call-To-Action" in my publication It's Your Business, Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going - A five step guide for individuals and entrepreneurs.
A Call-To-Action simply redirects the end-user to your URL or landing page so that they can easily act, (i.e. register for an event, make an online purchase an buy your product(s), donate, or even watch a live event, etc.) See number 3 for landing page examples.
Since no campaign is the same, however the end result always is.
You need to make a profit! Period.
Send foot traffic to your landing page is important but not important as sending the "right" foot traffic. in my book, It's Your Business, Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going - A five step guide for individuals and entrepreneurs where I highlight the importance of knowing your audience or the type of individuals you want to attract, and how to find them.
If you are not quite there yet or don't know how to go about finding out who your specific audience is or where to find them, then I recommend purchasing this book otherwise you're marketing to your family and friends and you your ROI (Return On Investment) will be little of nothing if anything at all.
I highly recommend you redirect your audience to a landing page that will allow you to collect their email address "before" they make a purchase. Building an email list creates an instant database of potential clients who are already interested in what you have to offer.
This list is gold because if they sign up to what you’re offering, and it also means that they are interested in what you have to offer. If they don't buy from you today, they will buy from you tomorrow.
Use this list to send them updates, discounts and eBlast on upcoming events that you're offering. There are many email marketing list making kits but I use, ConstantContact.com.
They offer a 60-day free trial and have the text-to-join feature that I love to use whenever I am out networking.
Here is an example:
Text: MYBUSINESS to 22828 for more information.
Tell me what happened?
This is an automatic service provided by ConstantContact.com that allows me to collect emails. I love to automate. Automation allows my business to work while I sleep.
I use it on my website as they provide a digital sign-up version as well! I can use it on printed material or on social media or by word-of-mouth!
Once they sign-up they are redirected to my website where they can sign-up for one-on-one coaching or even sign-up for one of my courses!
3. Choose a landing page or platform that will provide the highest ROI.
A website or an app works best for landing pages. I have found a way that you can do BOTH for free! Include my Call-To-Action business success module (see the explanation above but best explained in my book) and see your profit margin expand! I recommend you chose one of the following:
Each of these platform builders provide free services and are easy to use, but if you want to get higher dividends then upgrade to the professional "published" version and include a plan that will allow you to use your very own your business domain (or website name). This will instantly classify you as serious professional and ready to move and network in the big leagues!
